Oh yeah very 90's

Whenever i hear a song with these type of retro style, i just go back in time man.

Anyways, i really liked the pads, makes you enter to the "Ice" theme you establish in your track, Drums were kinda repetitive but they were just doing their awesome job.

The song break at the middle of the song was amazing, i just love this type of stuff when it comes to electronic music, the song progresses very well.

I really liked this composition!

Awesome, hope to hear more stuff like this from you

coleknows responds:

I used to have a whole collection of different drums i used but that was on my laptop computer that had its hardrive comit suicide. If i ever get the time when im not making my current remix, ill probably try to make up some more beats.

Why is that too? It's always the 8-bit songs that are great. Not that i am insulting the music though. I've always loved listening to that tune when i used to play sonic 3 on the genesis.

Thx for the review. Really appreciate it ;P

Awesome

I must say that this has a really long progression, the instruments take a lot of time to come out. Im not saying that this is wrong, infact is pretty good, a lot of people use this type of progression, it's just that im not very used to that hehe. The instruments were really nice , i liked how you used cellos instead of using the same generic bass that some people use. I was really hoping for some "impact moment" like when things get more dynamic with more instrument, but i guess what you were trying to achieve here was to make a really calm trance track, which you made absolutely good.

The other synth (the one that sounds like a bell) it's pretty good to create a really nice ambience. I think you could add some cymbals for every pattern change to make it sound more cool.

This is great stuff

Awesome

Cleod-9 responds:

Thanks! Yeah there was definitely room to build the piece up more but I ended up deciding to keep it calm. I'll probably come up with some more dynamic instrumental trance in the future.

yayayayayayayayaya

I like the synths that you used here, the synth doing the blues scale was kinda weird in my point of view, but i like it.You should boost the drums volume a little bit, because there are some parts that i can hear the bass drum or the snare.

Nice

lordaris responds:

Also I thought it was weird that synth, but it was the best I could make.

about the percussion you are quite right, this is an unmixed version, is out of the sequencer as is "without changing anything.

Thanks for your comment

:D

Turn down the vocals volume :s

They are really loud, i can barely hear the instrumental. What i can hear from the insterumental is pretty good i really liked how you boosted the speed somewhere in the track.

Once again i think you should boost down the volume of the vocals that are doing the harmony too. Maybe a little lower than the main vocal. I think you could add some reverb to the vocals to make it sound more nice. The singing is really nice but there were sometimes which you sing out of tune (1:11) but don't worry it's barely unnoticeable.

I really like this song just keep the volume balanced and this will go to the top

RecD responds:

Glad you liked it, reuben! Sorry about the volume, this was recorded about a year ago and I wasn't too good with equalizing back then. I also wanted to make sure the lyrics were easy to hear. But yeah, glad ya liked!

Review Request

The instrument playing along with the vocals were great, but the final mix seems to block all the sounds between each other as long with some clipping. I think it's because of the kick drum. Toontrack Ez Drummer it's a pretty cool software to make realistic sounding drums. There are also some parts were the voclas are ahead of the song, but i can't really tell maybe it's me. I really like this track maybe with some nice mix/processing, this could go to the front page.

Nice

NekoMika responds:

Thanks. Might try to play this on guitar next time and do the whole tune from scratch, Always wondered what the GT theme song was sicne I rarely got to watch it. :C

Thanks for the review.

Review Request

Im going to review while the track is playing like if this is a "real time review":

I really liked the bell delay effect, i imagine that im in a crystal cave with this. Then the beat starts progressing i can hear some hit hats in the backgrounds which sound pretty good, then you added some arp to increase the ambience but in the next compass you added a very nice sounding pad.Drum volume volume comes up along with some bass and noise Fx and some synth comes out to the game too.I really liked this part it's a little repetitive but it's soon forgotten by the piano synth that you used later, sounds kinda empty but maybe that's what you wanted to achieve.Bells come out again, 2 synths one cool part here (3:56). The song keeps progressing, beat comes out again, i think this is getting repetitive again but yeah who cares this is nice. Bells make their final stand on this song.

IN CONCLUSION:

The track has a really nice melody, liked how things progress on this track. The structure can get repetitive sometimes, there were sometimes that the same pattern was looping for like 25 seconds. Drums were pretty good but i think some breaks and fills would help this song.I was hoping for more bass to come out but i think it's all right like this.I liked the synths that you used here, they match pretty well with your description.

Nice Track

Ruben -Acid Paradox-

PainasaurusRex responds:

Wow, thank you for reviewing it so quickly :D. Your review is greatly appreciated. And I realized that the pattern looped for a while. I was trying something, but it didn't turn out as I wanted it to evidentally. I will fix it at some point and remove the length of time it loops. Once again, thank you for taking the time to review my music. It's greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Prex

Has potential but there are some things to work on

I really liked the concept you used here , sounds pretty original imo. But i think that you could change some things that could make this track pretty good.

* I think you use the main synth a lot,it never stops which makes it sound very repetitive, even if you used 2 different patterns. I would suggest to add more instruments like do a totally different patterns between 0:36 and 0:37, like adding some bells or a guitar, anything you want then do a fill and go back to 0:37 and it will sound more awesome.

* Use drum oneshots, don't use loops. If you use one loop it will sound repetitive, make your own patterns, make breaks/fills,use your creativity and you will see how your song will change drastically by playing with your drums.

*Boost the bass a little beat , im not saying that you should pump it up like super dirty bass, it's because i was hearing this song on my laptop speakers and i didn't notice there was bass until i used my headphones.

* Use some fx , it helps a lot to boost your track to make it sound more professional and prevent it to sound empty. Like Transitional elements , noises , maybe some japanese guy screaming, i can hear some "Huh huh huh" and the end of the beat.

and that's pretty much it, everything else is good.

Don't worry, i know that you'll get better, everyone does with time and patience.

Cheers

YouriX responds:

Thanks alot! This actually really helps me to improve. I will take notice to use these tips you gave me. I have to say though that i cant change this song since its been used in a flash. Anyways i will take notice of these tips when making other submissions ;)

cheers

Syntax.......here's a popsicle

Now go and play the adults have a conversation to do :3

Well i just love those yaw yaw synths, and the OOOOOOOOOOOO MAAAAIIIIIIII GOOOOD was just hilarious, the drums were pretty good. I think it needs a more solid structure but since i don't really know the structure of dubstep , then i must shut myself up.

Nice track man

Cheers

Ruben -Acid Paradox-

EricFreeman responds:

Haha, thanks for liking it...but still, this is a joke song; you're not supposed to like it :P
