Hey man , welcome to newgrounds mate.

Saw your pm and yeah don't worry about that.

I like this , specially the main synth. The vocal chopping was really nice too. The drums could be louder though, you should check your volumes maybe the main synth is too loud.

This track has a lot of potential , I was wondering if you could send me the stems of the track or maybe the midis, the patch or maybe the synth and i could add some more stuff . In other words we can make a collab out of this.

What do you say mate?

Cheers

AetherNG responds:

Hey, first of all thanks for the awesome review! Your offer sounds like a good possibility, If you have Skype or AIM please pm me your details and we will talk more ;)

I like this

The melody (or first synth) is pretty much the same , but it's the harmony that makes it sound so fluids all those background sounds , drum patterns , fx , etc.

This is really well done , the quality is just clear as water.

Great job man!

Thanks! For some reason my chiptuneish songs always end up with a ton of harmony, and i'm not complaining :)

Glad you like it dude!

The song was really repetitive, the intro was really good with all those crazy drums banging the track very nicely but from there until 2:00 it's pretty much the same thing and it makes a slight change on the track by adding that string break. That break was the best part from the whole track , it actually revived the track. Even though that synth is making the same melody and i know that maybe is that melody you refer on your description but i think you could make some variation like invert the melody or something, that break showed your composition skills and it shows that you can make a really nice song. The rest of the song is good , i didn't see anything wrong with it.

It's nice but it could be better, I have heard your other tracks before and you are awesome

cheshyre responds:

I agree with you almost 100 percent. It was a challenge to make this song interesting. I really wanted that melody in a song and I thought I could do it justice. I think it will be somewhat controversial but I gave it my best. Thanks for the honesty and for the 7!!

It's nice

But i would recommend you not to use Massive presets(0:43,1:10 for example) because anyone with the same preset pack can recreate pretty much the same track and that pretty much kills the originality.

There are tons of sites that can give you brief introductions on how to make your own patches , take them a look and trust me that it will make your songs more fun to make.

Anyways, I really liked the intro and that drum fill was really good too. The rest of the drums were simple but the were making their job correctly. At the beginning it sounded good but the rest sounded kinda repetitive to me.

It's ok but it could be better : \

Yup its pretty good. Definitely deserves the same score as that piece of shit Song of Storms remix. Thanks for the fair review.

Nice!

I like the tracks that have that "forest" settings , they are the best settings;specially in videogames. (Megaman Zero 4 , Donkey Kong Country, Chrono Trigger , etc.)

The melodies here are really well thought , they never get repetitive and you manage to distribute very well in your track. The instruments were beautiful, i wish that i could create some ambience like you did. I just feel that something sounds overcompressed but maybe it's just my ears.

I love this track man, it's has that "thing" that makes stand out of the others.

and that thing is called creativity.

Awesome

ZaronX responds:

This one was a little weird because I started with the ambiance and kinda just went from there, but that seems to be working out well! :o

Erik helped me out with the final EQ/compression stuff, and I am particularly ignorant of the latter! But he admits he overcompressed the piano apparently. Meanwhile, I didn't even notice he'd changed it! So observant~! But yes that shall be looked into.

Thanks for the well-thought review! c:

Great!

I really liked the synths you used here. I just love tracks that have pianos , the fit pretty much in any single genre.

The melody is kinda simple but it managed to deliver to this nice and classic drum beat you set. The arpeggiated bass was really nice too. I just think that maybe could add a pad to the outro at 2:20 because it sounds kinda empty or add some reverb to those instruments to fill that empty space.

But hey, this is nice!!

Awesome

Ruben-Acid Paradox-

Daydream-Anatomy responds:

That's probably a good idea with the outro, I kinda like a little emptiness in the end, but a lil reverb and maybe just a touch up of delay at the end sounds like it'd be good.

Thanks:]

Needs some adjustments but has potential

The kick drum at 0:41 is out of place, It doesn't fit on a 3/4 beat you are playing the kick drum in the middle of the 2 and 3 beat , to make it sound good you should put it on the exact 3rd beat.

I was expecting some more changes on the song structure because, basically it's the same melody over and over again with some note duration changes. You could add your own arrangement to make it sound more original.

You could also add more instruments , because you used only 5 (main synth , background synth, intro synth , bass and drums) you could add a pad for more ambience or add some bells that could follow the melody or you could make the background synth to do some harmony instead of making the exact melody.

Im gonna think that you didn't grab a midi and assign a instrument to each channel and you actually played or assigned each note to your sequencer.

It's not bad man , but i know you can make it better. It's just that it doesn't stand out of the other video game covers. The point of making a good cover/remix is to grab something and make something original out of it.

Keep going man, It has potential!!

Awesome
